our Truck

More info about our truck to come on this page!

Laura and James
Our truck is a 2014 – Toyota LandCruiser – 76 series.

It was originally built for somewhere in the Middle East (we don’t know where, but only know this due to the Arabic writing in places, such as the VIN plate and on the wing mirrors) before ending up in the UK and being owned by our friend Rich.

We had originally planned to do this trip in our 80 series LandCruiser which turns 30 years old in August 2022. But a few things made us consider purchasing the 76 instead. The fact that it is left-hand drive (which not only is useful in a lot of countries outside of the UK and Australia, but also allows us to enter the vehicle into Costa Rica and Chile – see issues about RHD in Costa Rica at http://wikioverland.org/Costa_Rica and https://overlandingassociation.org/lhd-rhd/ ) as well as having air-conditioning for those long, hot days driving.
