About Us

Hi there! We're Laura and James. We will be travelling around the world together, exploring unique destinations, cultures and adventures in our Toyota LandCruiser

James

I followed the traditional path of leaving college, going to university and then straight into work where I've been ever since.

I've always enjoyed travelling and adventure, but haven't experienced lots of bigger trips. The biggest I had, was a 4 week break from work to take part in the Mongol Rally (Team Must'Dash if you want to check it out) and as part of this trip I got the bug for longer road trips. The biggest challenge was the lack of time, being able to slow down, see and experience things. With limited days, it was constantly onto the next point.

Before Mongolia, I did a few other road trips, a few weeks around Iceland and a few weeks driving around California, so I'm no stranger to clocking up the miles on (and off) the tarmac.

Outside of travelling, my hobby is collecting hobbies. I guess I am a partial adrenaline junkie, who enjoys a lot of water sports, such as wake-boarding, wake surfing, open water swimming, Stand Up Paddleboard and sea kayaking.

The first time Laura and I went away in the LandCruiser and she slept comfortably in the Roof Tent, I knew she was the one who I'd happily share my life and future adventures with, especially this epic trip.

I think it's fair to say that I'm a bit of a 'free spirit'. I flew the nest at 18 and went to study Spanish and Portuguese. A strong love of people and culture meant I thrived living in different countries and meeting all sorts of people from different walks of life.

After uni I decided to head to Australia for a few years, spending a fair chunk of time in the rainforest and out on the reef scuba diving. I then took the long way home via Indonesia and South America (let's just say I get lost) and managed to secure my first corporate role at Diageo where I currently work in marketing, supporting amazing brands like Guinness. I've managed to continue travelling for the last 7 years to some incredible places such as Ethiopia, Albania, Argentina, Vietnam and the Philippines.

When I'm not travelling, I can be found cycling, surfing, wild swimming, running, amongst lots of other things.

Our travel philosophy

Live. Laugh. Love.

Kiddddding!
We like to travel far, be curious and most of all, laugh a lot!

We don’t know where we'll be in a week or in a month.
We do what we want for as long as we want, always trying out new experiences.
